Peacehaven Town Council can’t compel East Sussex County Council to make changes to pedestrian crossings, BUT strong community support helps us press for change.
Our Planning Committee has a proposed list of crossing and safety upgrades.

Road safety hasn’t kept pace with housebuilding. For example, in North Ward, the only full crossing is the dark subway under Pelham Rise.
Residents risk dangerous dashes across South Coast Road to reach buses and shops. Many old traffic islands are poorly placed and too narrow for prams and mobility scooters.
