Public Rights of Way Evidence Collection

Ref: PAE 26, Valley Lane, Peacehaven

For many years, a well-used track ran along part of Valley Lane, connecting The Lookout with Valley Road, as shown on the Estate Plan. Although once regularly used by local residents, this section is now blocked at both ends.

A campaign is now underway to gather evidence of historic public use, with the aim of applying to the County Council to have the full length formally recognised as a public right of way. If successful, this would see the route officially recorded and reopened for public access.

If you have used any part of this stretch of Valley Lane, we would be very grateful if you assist us Peacehaven Town Council in gathering evidence.
