Oyez, Oyez, Oyez... Peacehaven Town Council is looking for a Town Crier!

Are you proud of our coastal heritage? Do you have a passion for community spirit, a touch of theatrical flair, and a voice that can echo across the cliffs? If so, Peacehaven Town Council needs you!

We’d love to welcome an enthusiastic, community-minded volunteer to take on the historic role of Town Crier. You’ll become a much-loved voice for Peacehaven — bringing our local heritage to life, adding a special sense of occasion to civic events and proudly sharing the spirit of our town wherever you go.

What You Will Do

• Announce the opening of Town Council events such as the Summer Fair.
• Lead the ceremonial proceedings and read traditional proclamations for Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day.
• Represent Peacehaven at regional and national town crier competitions.
• Engage with residents and visitors as a welcoming, visible ambassador for our town.

Who We Are Looking For:

• A Passionate Community Champion: Someone who loves Peacehaven and wants to actively support local civic life.
• An Engaging Performer:You don’t need professional acting experience, but confidence, excellent public speaking skills, and a strong, clear voice are essential.
• A Dedicated Volunteer: A reliable individual who can attend the key dates in the town diary.
• Professional Outlook: Maintains a smart appearance.
• Media & Social Media: Enthusiastic about participating in video content and appearing across PTC social media channels.
