ON TRACK, a company specialising in trail construction and contracted by Lewes District Council, has started work on the new pump track beside Peacehaven skate park. The project is expected to take approximately six weeks to complete.
A pump track is a specially designed cycling track featuring a loop of rollers, banked turns, and other elements. It is meant to be ridden without pedalling, as riders generate speed through using their own momentum.
Lewes District Council said "the skate park will remain open during the build, although there may be short, temporary closures of the section next to the new pump track while certain works take place. These will be scheduled during school hours wherever possible to minimise disruption. The nearby path will also stay open for most of the project, with only brief temporary closures when delivery vehicles need to access the site".
Whilst under construction, please take care if you are in the vicinity, and we are looking forward to seeing the track in action in a few weeks.
