Lewes District Council Launches Local Plan Phase Two Public Consultation

26th January 2026

< Back to news

From 18th December 2025 to 28th February 2026, Lewes District Council will be consulting with residents on the Phase 2 - Regulation 18 'A Spatial Strategy for Development in our Plan Area (incorporating Site Allocations) of its emerging Local Plan.

What is a Local Plan?

Phase one of the consultation was held in January and February 2025 and focused on detailed policies for the plan area and considered a few early site allocations.

The second phase of the consultation will take place from 18th December 2025 to 28th February 2026, and it will focus on establishing a new Spatial Strategy and Site Allocations for development, replacing the existing Local Plan, which expires in 2030.

The plan aims to guide sustainable growth, meet housing and employment needs, and protect the environment.
