5th November 2025

< Back to news

Peacehaven Town Council will once again bring the community together this November to commemorate Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day, honouring all those who have served and sacrificed in times of conflict.

Remembrance Sunday – Sunday 9th November 2025

The Remembrance Sunday Parade and Service will take place on Sunday 9th November, with participants gathering near The Joff, Roderick Avenue from 10:15am. The parade will move off at 10:30am, proceeding to the Peacehaven War Memorial, where a service of remembrance and wreath-laying ceremony will be held.

Following the service, light refreshments will be available at Community House, providing an opportunity for residents, veterans, and guests to reflect and come together.

The event is organised by Peacehaven Town Council in partnership with Telscombe Town Council and the Royal British Legion Peacehaven and Telscombe Branch, with support from local community groups, schools, and uniformed organisations.

Armistice Day – Tuesday 11th November 2025

A short act of remembrance will take place at the Peacehaven War Memorial on Tuesday 11th November at 10:45am. Armistice Day marks the moment the guns fell silent in 1918 at the end of the First World War.

There will be the traditional two-minute silence 11:00am to honour those who gave their lives in service to their country.

A Moment of Reflection and Unity

Mayor of Peacehaven, Councillor Deborah Donovan said:

Remembrance is a vital part of our community’s shared history and values. These services allow us to come together — to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice and to reaffirm our commitment to peace for future generations.”

Peacehaven Town Council invites all residents, local organisations, and visitors to join these important events of reflection, gratitude, and community unity.
